Playa Hermosa is a planned eco-development with land set aside for home sites and reforestation, with additional land targeted for low-impact commercial development like eco-resorts.  Owners properties will be members of the Playa Hermosa Owners’ Association, which will provide owners with access to shared recreational facilities, including common boat docks.  The Association will also adopt and enforce rules on how each property can be developed within the Playa Hermosa eco-development.  These rules, which are intended to protect each owner’s investment, are being developed by Panamadera and will incorporate feedback from the initial Playa Hermosa owners.

Playa Hermosa Owners’ Association rules will likely include:

  • At least 50% of each owner’s land must be planted with trees

  • Only one house may be built per home site, and must be within specific size and material parameters to ensure harmony with the natural environment

  • No reforestation owner can develop property for non-agricultural commercial use, including hotels, cabanas, marinas, and restaurants, without two-thirds approval from the Playa Hermosa Owners’ Association membership

  • Water, electricity, sewage treatment, telephone, and other utilities must be constructed according to an ecologically-approved manner

  • Owners will share access to the Playa Hermosa beachfront and common recreational facilities with other members of the community
