Panamadera, S.A.
About Panamadera Panamadera is an eco-development company providing qualified investors with opportunities in tropical reforestation, sustainable forestry, exclusive waterfront and mountain retreats, and eco-tourism projects in Panama. We bring together an investment mindset, interest in tropical living, and respect for improving the natural environment with planned certification of our projects by the Forestry Stewardship Council.
Management Team Panamadera was founded by American professionals with two passions – creating tremendous opportunities for our clients, and leveraging our business model to protect and renew tropical forestland. Our management team brings together a wide variety of experience, including reforestation, eco-tourism, business management, strategy, and marketing. Kirt Barker is the Managing Director of in-country development for Panamadera. In addition to his position with Panamadera, he owns and manages a furniture manufacturing operation that focuses on plantation teak products. Kirt previously worked in forestry, value-added wood products, and nature-based tourism projects for organizations such as The World Bank, Winrock International, and The Nature Conservancy, in geographies as diverse as Latin America, the South Pacific, Asia, Africa, and Europe. Kirt has a masters degree in forestry from Yale University.
Investors Our investors are probably a lot like you. American and European professionals, with graduate degrees from prestigious U.S. universities, working in high-intensity careers. While they continue to live and work in the Northern latitudes, they share the same desires to escape to beautiful tropical land for work, play, profit, and to do some good. Perhaps also like you, they initially discovered Panama via the Internet. They subsequently fell in love with the land and people, as our many visits have revealed the beauty and potential of this relatively undiscovered country. As they started evaluating real estate and other opportunities in Panama, they wanted to find a company they could trust not only to buy property from, but to manage their property professional and in a sustainable manner. When they didn't find anyone who deliver against these needs, they decided to create Panamadera.
